Hospitality
Ghana Government shall provide hospitality for Heads of State and First Ladies, Foreign Ministers, Permanent Representatives in Addis Ababa and two others. Delegates outside the Government hospitality will be responsible for settling all expenses during their sojourn in Accra

Hotel Reservation
Reservation of hotel accommodation for participants (VIPs and delegates) at Hotels is made strictly through the accommodation committee. The accommodation Committee could be reached at:

Meanwhile the following arrangements have been made:
  • The Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Commissioners of the AU; Heads of AU Organs; Heads of RECS; the APRM Eminent Persons; the CEOs of the APRM and NEPAD, together with their respective Secretariats and Head of AU Financial Institutions would as much as possible be accommodated at the same hotel.
  • The Permanent Representatives of all Member Countries will be accommodated at the M Plaza and Novotel Hotels;
  • Ambassadors from Non-Member Countries, accredited to the AU, will be offered every assistance to reserve hotel accommodation;
  • Observers will be assisted to source for hotel accommodation to the extent possible ;
  • The AU Staff of some 130 will be accommodated at 3 hotels within close proximity to each other.
Executive Council Meeting
  • Foreign Ministers will be accommodated in Suites/ Apartments/ Chalets in Premier Hotels in Accra;
  • Foreign Ministers from Observer Countries who may be in need of accommodation, will be assisted to source for them to the extent possible;
  • Other Observer delegations will be given assistance to secure accommodation to the extent possible.
Assembly
  • Villas will be allocated for use by the Heads of State and their Spouses, together with 04 members of their respective entourage at the two AU Villages located at the “Ridge” and the “La Wireless”.
  • Other Delegates
  • Arrangements are in progress to assist delegates from both Member Countries and Observer Countries/Institutions to source for Hotel accommodation.
Car passes
Car passes have to be obtained for all vehicles to the relevant venues such as the Conference Centre, Hotels etc. Rented vehicles should also obtain car passes to have access to Kotoka International Airport and other designated venues. These passes shall be collected from the National Committee as of 18th June 2007.
For this purpose, the make, registration numbers of vehicles as well as the names of drivers shall be communicated in advance to the National Committee.

Business and shopping hours
Offices are generally open Monday to Friday from 8:30 hours to 12:30 hours and in the morning, and 13:30 – 17:00 in the afternoon. Shops are open from 8:30 – 19:00 from Monday to Saturday. In addition, some banks and insurance companies are open on Saturdays from 8:00 to 12:00 hours.

Electricity supply
The power supply in Ghana is 220 VAC, 50 HZ.
